WITH GRATITUDE…

Dear Red Rock & Green Valley Ranch Spa Teams,

WOW! Where do I even begin to list the highlights of the entire Trilogy Team that has made the re-opening of our two Las Vegas properties a success! First, I want to thank Erik Sears for his dedication and work to prepare the properties for the daunting challenges that we faced and continue to face, and Brennan Evans for his continued support and care he has for all of us.

I also want to recognize the relentless work ethic of the leadership teams at Red Rock and Green Valley Ranch: Trish Hayes, Rachel Medrano, Roseann Bruno and Samantha Louie at Green Valley Ranch, and Tiffany Willie, Tina Avellar, Colleen Kestel-Raidmae, Alexis Herrera, Amanda Alvirez and Isabel Hernandez at Red Rock. Their willingness to do whatever it takes to make our teams feel comfortable and safe in the workplace and make the business function at an extremely high level is amazing. Over my 18 years in the Industry, this is far and away the best and hardest working group of leaders that I have had the pleasure of working with. I know as an employee, that it is easy to overlook the leaders that you see everyday because they are always there, but their work does not go unnoticed and should not go unappreciated.

Lastly, I want to thank both teams and recognize their positive attitudes in coming back to work and the way they have continued excellence in care of our guests. In the face of uncertainty, fear, anxiety and all of the unknowns each and every one of the team that has returned has exhibited greatness in what we are and what we do. “Flawless Service: Every Guest, Every Day.”

– Patrick McDirmit, Regional Vice President, Las Vegas

Kind regards,
Trish Hayes, Spa Director

EXPERT ADVICE

I have an addiction… to sweets. I am trying to eat well and just take care of myself physically. But, I cannot shake my sweet tooth! Below is a delicious cake recipe for those that love peanut butter and are looking for a healthier icing option.

Get a box of your favorite chocolate cake mix (most are accidently Vegan if that matters). Use applesauce in place of the butter or oil. Use egg substitute, if you are into that.

Icing:
• ¾ Cup Peanut Butter
• ½ Cup Coconut Oil
• ½ Tsp Vanilla
• 2 Cups Powdered Sugar
• ½ Tsp Salt
• 2-4 Tbs Almond Milk (or reg. milk)

Let the cake cool. Spread on the icing… and eat it all!

Healthy Recipe – Keto Buffalo Cauliflower

Ingredients:
• 1 Cauliflower head (cut into smaller pieces)
• 1/2 Cup Buffalo Sauce
• 1 Tsp. Garlic Powder
• Pinch of Salt for taste
• Parsley
• Celery or Carrots

Preheat oven to 450F or air fryer to 400F. In a bowl, add the buffalo sauce, garlic powder, and salt. Toss in the cauliflower pieces into the buffalo sauce mixture until coated. Place the coated cauliflower on a baking sheet and cook for 20-25 minutes, or until done and roasted; or air fryer for 10-12 minutes until roasted.
Garnish with parsley, add carrots and celery on the side, along with your favorite dip.

Sleep Well – Red Rock Spa Calming Lavender & Eucalyptus Pillow Mist
Sleep is a critical part of our well-being. As eucalyptus promotes relaxation and lavender, and is known for it’s calming qualities, with a few spritzes before bedtime, this aromatherapy combination will lead you to a deep restorative sleep.

We have all heard the term “the new normal.”
We can apply this to many things, but in the Spa industry, as an Esthetician, what I am witnessing is the new normal of “mask face.” Yes, it is a real thing! Many of my clients who never had a blemish in their life are experiencing blemishes in the lower area of their face where our mask covers our nose, mouth, and chin to protect us and others.

The facial I like to use is a signature facial featuring Epicurean products, where we customize it with a Clarifying Polishing Mask. This mask is amazing because it can be used as a scrub and as a mask.

This scrub/mask is a powerful dual-purpose detoxifying mask and refining scrub.
This will leave clients feeling as if they have had something medically done to their skin to draw any kind of bacteria from the skin, as well as smoothing out the skin with the mini granules.

I like to end a facial with Acidophilus Moisturizer by Epicurean, because of its qualities to restore balance and harmony with this gentle moisturizer that is enriched with Lactobacilli Acidophilus and Micronized Silver to maintain a blemish free complexion.

SUCCESS STORIES & ACHIEVEMENTS

The Red Rock Team achieved a perfect 100% in Medalia scores in June and July! We led the entire hotel in satisfaction. An incredible accomplishment!

The Green Valley Ranch Team has found a new sense of unity. The team has real come together to help each other! Even though they now need to adhere to many new regulations, the team has maintained a positive attitude.

CHALLENGES

The challenges that we faced as a group were points of learning for me. While I faced the same fears that the team did, with family at home that I wanted to keep safe, unknowns, and all that came with it, the need for more communication and constant communication was the greatest. It is something that I work at daily. The other big challenge was the need to be flexible and listen, while still managing standards that have been required by the Governor. A lot of decisions were made based in conversation, not in real life scenarios. How to do pre-shift and social distance, how to manage numbers in the break room to social distance, what is the impact of someone having a headache and being able to work because of symptoms? It is a lot to take in and a lot had to be done at the moment that it happened, as this was all a new learning experience.

– Patrick McDirmit

For the Green Valley Ranch, their biggest challenge was not being able to bring back the entire team. They miss them!
